SONNCLAIR DÉPOSÉ

B. Chagnon.

[An unframed advertisement in black and white, drawn in a lively commercial style. A dark panel with rounded upper corners and a slanted lower edge fills the top, with the brand name “Sonnclair !…” reversed out in brush-script lettering; a small vertical “S.O.S.P.” agency mark runs down its left end. A large line-engraved drawing of a round bicycle bell seen from the front and slightly above sits at the left, dark and shaded with fine hatching, with a small round lever-tab at its left side carrying the words “SONNCLAIR DÉPOSÉ” curved round its rim and a small clapper or stud hanging below. At the right of the bell a column of widely spaced lowercase text is bounded on its right by a long diagonal arrow line that points down to a script line in heavy brush lettering, “Avertisseur continu”. Under that line a small spaced-capital line leads to a large looping figure-eight outline drawn in a thin black line. The dealer’s name “LACHÈVRE” stands beneath it in very large heavy sans-serif capitals, with a small spaced line, the street and telephone line, and the Salon hall line at the foot in lightface type. A signature, “B. Chagnon.”, is printed vertically beside the dealer’s name at the lower right, and the S.O.S.P. agency mark appears at the upper left. No text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]

[This advertisement shares page 206 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for D’Alessandro, held here as its own record, and others for L. Meyrat and Sepex.]
