SONNCLAIR DÉPOSÉ

[A ruled advertisement. A black panel with a rounded upper left corner runs across the head and carries the word “Sonnclair !…” in white brush script. Below it, at the left, a line-engraved drawing shows a large round bicycle bell seen from above, shaded with fine hatching, with a thumb lever at its left rim stamped in a circle with the words “SONNCLAIR DÉPOSÉ” and a clamp lug beneath. At the right a slanting wedge of text in spaced italic sans-serif describes the bell, followed by five lines of capitals, and a long arrow descends from this wedge toward the script line “Avertisseur continu” in a large black brush hand, with a small line of spaced capitals under it. A flat open loop in the form of a sideways figure eight crosses the lower part. The distributor’s name “LACHÈVRE” is set across the foot in very large heavy capitals, with the agent line, street address and telephone beneath in lighter capitals. The artist’s signature “B. Chaghon.” runs vertically along the lower right edge. A few letters of an adjoining item, apparently S O S P, show vertically at the extreme upper left. The foot of the advertisement is cut close, and the first characters of the address line at the left edge are clipped.]

[This advertisement shares page 96 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for E. Perrin, held here as its own record, and one for Chazal-Rouchouse fittings for cyclomoteurs.]
