[A ruled advertisement in black and white, closed by a thin double border with one caption line below it. The head is set in a mix of heavy condensed capitals and lighter roman lines, three lines of large capitals running the full width of the panel. A small line of bold capitals beneath it names a trade association. In the middle band two drawings of leather-grained luggage face each other across a central column of text: at the left a squared saddlebag with a carrying strap arched over its lid and two buckled straps, at the right a larger case with a flap lid, two buckled straps and a smaller pouch strapped to its front. Both are drawn in stippled line engraving with a speckled texture for the grain. Between them the name “MAPHAL” stands in tall condensed capitals in quotation marks, with a small line of type and a slanted italic slogan below. Inked smudges show beside the slogan and above the name. Below the drawings a line of spaced capitals reads as the sales claim, then the firm’s name appears at the lower left with its works address in Bergerac and its Paris depot address at the lower right, each in a different bold type. A heavy condensed closing line crosses the foot. No artist signature is visible.]

[This advertisement shares page 180 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Wippermann, held here as its own record, and one for Felt.]
