[A full advertisement printed in black and a single orange ink on a cream ground. A tall dark trapezoid panel fills the left third, its right edge slanting; across its upper part the words “CYCLES”, “MOTOS” and “SCOOTERS” climb the slant in white italic brush lettering, each word tilted upward and the last running off the panel into the open ground, and a small asterisk sits at the top corner. A thin white rule divides the panel, and in the lower section a round white-ringed seal shows a bison head in profile, drawn in white line on black, with the words around the ring and the brand name across the foot above a tiny line of type. At the upper right three leather and canvas saddlebags are drawn in loose black line engraving with dense hatching, stacked on a diagonal: a buckled bag with a front pocket and straps at the top, a laced-side bag with ribbed panels in the middle and a flap bag with a clasp at the bottom. Beside them the sales words are set in orange: “la plus grande collection de modèles” in widely spaced bold lowercase, “TOILE” and “CUIR” in bold capitals, and “tabliers cuissards manchons” in widely spaced lowercase. A long orange rule runs from the dark panel to a large orange script capital E with an asterisk, and the line “Equipés avec les sacoches” is set in large orange brush script across the lower part. Below, small spaced capitals read “PRODUCTION DES ÉTABLISSEMENTS”, the maker’s name stands in large orange condensed capitals, and the street and town address in dark grotesque type sits at the lower right. The signature “Chagnon” in white script and a small white capsule mark reading SOSP run along the upper left corner of the dark panel. The right edge is cut at the binding fold, which clips the last letter of “sacoches” and “MAUGES” and loses the telephone number after “Tél. 51”; text from the neighboring column shows at that edge.]

[This advertisement shares page 104 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Bernardon’s Décéler drum-brake hub for the cyclomoteur.]
