[A full-page advertisement in black on cream, framed by a thin rule and printed with a soft, grainy black. A large black panel fills the upper half. At its upper left “LE NOUVEAU” is hand-lettered in italic capitals and “PATIN DE FREIN” in heavy extended capitals, all reversed in cream, then “JB” in tall bold capitals with “STOP !” lettered small and slanting after it. Below, a cartoon shows a policeman in a kepi and buttoned tunic raising a baton as he stands on a giant slotted brake block marked “JB” on its end and “LE BLOQUE” along its side, half hidden by the slots, while a boy in checked plus-fours on a bicycle pulls up short in front of it amid a white burst. At the upper right a jagged cream starburst holds a drawing of a ribbed dynamo cap with the “JB” monogram on its top, and “CAPUCHON DE DYNAMO” stands below it in reversed heavy extended capitals. Under the panel “TOUT LE CAOUTCHOUC POUR LE VÉLO” and “SANDOW” are set in heavy extended capitals with a gray drop shadow, beside a very large shadowed “JB,” and a drawing of an elastic luggage strap with a hook at each end loops across the lower right. A gray band at the foot carries the distributors’ line in italic hand-lettering and “VELOX” in decorative shaded capitals between quotation marks, followed by the address in condensed capitals. No signature appears on the cartoon or drawings.]
