[A ruled advertisement printed in black and a second color, red, the sheet divided by rules into a small boxed panel at the upper left, a column of text at the upper right and a wide block across the lower two thirds. In the boxed panel a line engraving shows a wedge-shaped rear lamp clamped to a torn length of mudguard seen in three-quarter, the lamp body drawn in outline with ruled shading, its lens carrying a star badge lettered AC, and short rays struck out behind it to show the light; the letters “A C” are set small in the corner above and a line of bold capitals runs under the drawing. The right-hand column gives the lamp copy, its heading in red capitals with the marque between inverted commas, the body in light roman, three solid lozenges as a divider, and two short lines at the foot. The lower block opens with “NOUVEAUTÉ” in black capitals and the tool’s name “CLÉ A ERGOT” in very large red shaded capitals, with two red lines of capitals naming its use. Two line engravings sit side by side showing the hinged wrench, one with its ring jaw open and one closed on a knurled lock ring, each drawn in outline with ruled shading and a long handle broken off at the right. Bold black capitals at the left claim one key and two uses, and a paragraph of light roman at the right explains the action, with two lines of light capitals under it, the words DIRECTION and PÉDALIER underscored, and a small line giving the steel and the thickness. Four lines of light roman close the block. The makers’ line runs across the foot, “FABRICANTS” in black bold capitals and the firm’s name, address and telephone in red bold type. No signature or agency mark appears, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
