[A tall advertisement printed in two colors, black and a light grass green, inside a green rule. The head “Les Equipes :” is in bold italic sans-serif at the upper left, over nine lines of letter-spaced light sans-serif capitals naming the teams, each separated from the next by an em dash. Down the middle of the panel runs a large halftone photograph set on a slant, a single piece of cycle frame work shown against a white ground: at the top the head lug assembly with the headset cups and locknut screwed in place and a stub of fork column, and below it the bottom bracket shell with its chainstay and seat stay sockets cut as shaped tongues, both pieces polished so that the light runs along their edges. The green display lines are printed across and behind the photograph, which overlaps them: “ont choisi la” in green italic, then “SÉRIE NERVEX PROFESSIONNEL” in large green sans-serif capitals, with the word “NERVEX” set inside a green rectangular outline frame as a trademark. Further down, in green italic and capitals, the line “… qui les a conduites à la VICTOIRE en 1952 dans :” steps across the sheet in five short pieces. Below the photograph nineteen lines of letter-spaced light sans-serif capitals list the races, with a handful of names set in bold for emphasis, and the names break across the line ends with hyphens. A black rule closes that block, and the maker’s name and address stand under it in two lines of heavy condensed sans-serif capitals. No signature or agency mark appears. The sheet is cut along the foot, so the second line of the address is lost below the town, and no type from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
[This advertisement shares page 135 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for VBF, held here as its own record.]
