[A ruled advertisement in black line work on cream, enclosed in a thin rectangular frame. Across the top “FREINS” in tall condensed capitals stands beside “MAFAC” in very large heavy slanted capitals set on a thick underline that steps up under the letter A, followed by the slogan “LES MEILLEURS DU MONDE” in tall condensed capitals. Three brake drawings in line engraving fill the middle of the panel. At the left a center-pull caliper brake is drawn from the front on a fork, with a triangular cable hanger carrying a straddle wire down to the ends of a curved arch and two arms ending in pads. At the center a long brake lever with a hooked, pivoted body and a slender blade is drawn partly cut by the lever’s own outline. At the right a second brake is drawn on a fork with a triangular hanger, a straddle wire and two separate pivoting arms, each carrying a ribbed pad, the arms marked “MAFAC”. A small ruled box at the upper right holds the Salon and stand lines in centered capitals. Under the drawings “SURPUISSANTS ET DOUX — UN DOIGT SUFFIT !” is set in roman capitals above a long thin rule. Below the rule the line about tool kits carries the name “MAFAC” in heavy slanted capitals in its middle, with the last words set on a second line. The line for the hall and stand sits beneath the frame. The drawings are signed “Rebour” in a fenced monogram, once at the lower center beneath the left brake and once at the lower right beside the right brake.]

[This advertisement shares page 178 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Sonnclair, held here as its own record, and one for Mijno sprockets and chains for motor machines.]
