[A long shallow strip advertisement inside a thin black rule, printed in black on the untinted paper and drawn throughout in plain pen line without any halftone. At the left two pennants are drawn lying one across the other, each a triangle with eyelets at its staff edge and the firm’s name lettered along it in drawn capitals, the lower one shaded with a few short hatching strokes. At the center of the strip a running man is drawn in continuous outline with no shading, his arms thrown out and his head turned, and a straight arrow runs out to each side of him, the left one labeled with the trade word and the right one with the registration word in small lettering. Under the figure the firm’s name is lettered very large in drawn capitals, the first letter oversized and enclosing the rest, with a long pointed tail running off to the right. Two heavy rules sit beneath it, and below them a two-line address block in drawn capitals is closed at each side by a short vertical stroke, giving the street with the telephone on the first line and the city with the arrondissement on the second. The right two thirds of the strip hold six lines of trade copy, each opening with a product name in bold italic capitals that is underscored by a rule running the width of the block, the matter after it set in an upright roman with two phrases in bold italic lower case. No photograph, no second color and no signature or agency mark appear.]

[This advertisement shares page 176 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Indéca, Maphal, Gallia, Mulin, Héloisa and A.R.O., each held here as its own record, and others for l’Hirondelle oils and greases, S.O.S.P. trade forms and the Bottin du Cycle trade directory.]
