[A tall upright ruled advertisement in black on the cream stock, the panel closed by a double rule. The two opening lines are set in letter-spaced bold sans-serif capitals. Below them the maker’s mark is drawn large in solid black: a broken circle opening at the upper right, with a heavy angular Z set across it, a chevron above and two dots at the right, so that the device reads as the letters C and Z combined. The three lines announcing the hub are in bold sans-serif capitals stepped to the right, with the qualifying line under them in a lighter face, and the model name “FAVORIT” in large bold capitals between pairs of inverted commas. At the center, inside a thin ruled box, a free-wheel and back-pedaling brake hub is reproduced in halftone from a photograph, lying on its side with the axle to the right: the polished shell with its two flanges drilled for spokes, a large toothed sprocket at the left end, the axle, lock nuts and cone at the right, and the cranked brake arm with its strap clip curving down and forward from the right-hand end. Below the box, “AINSI QUE” in light capitals introduces the chain line in heavy condensed sans-serif with the two chain names in inverted commas, then three specification lines, the pitch figures in a lighter face. Two solid bullets separate the Salon line, set in bold italic capitals with the hall and stand in small bold capitals beside it, from the distributors’ line. The distributor’s name closes the panel in heavy condensed capitals with its address and telephone set in small bold capitals at the right. No second color is used, no signature or agency mark appears, and nothing shows through from the reverse of the leaf.]
