[A full-page advertisement printed as a solid black panel with the lettering and the drawings reversed out in the cream of the paper. A wide wedge of white, the beam, opens from the lower right and spreads across the sheet to the left, where a gentleman’s bicycle is drawn in thin white outline at mid height; the headline sits in the upper left in a heavy white brush script and the closing phrase in the lower left in a bold white sans serif. Four products are shown down the middle in halftone, modeled as shaded photographic objects seen against the black: a bullet-shaped headlamp on its bracket, a bottle dynamo standing upright, a teardrop rear lamp with a ribbed glass set in its side, and a second teardrop lamp whose round lens is covered with a honeycomb of small reflector cells. A thin white rule runs from each object out to the right, where the product is named in white sans-serif capitals above the rule with a white script line under it. At the foot the trade name is set very large in a white geometric display letter whose strokes break and loop, a cream flag printed in black and tilted upward carries the guarantee line beside it, and two lines of white capitals, the slogan and the wholesaler’s name, address and telephone, close the panel. A small studio monogram of the letters “PS” in a rounded upright frame, with the figures “201” under it, is printed in white at the top right corner. No other signature appears.]
