[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a tall panel inside a thin rule, divided by a double rule low down. The upper part carries a line engraving at the left: a statue of a knight in full armor standing at ease, bare-headed with long hair, his right hand open at his side and his left resting on the pommel of a long sword set point down, drawn in plain outline with hatched shading on the armor skirt and legs; he stands on a stepped plinth whose face is lettered BAYARD and, below, SANS PEUR ET SANS REPROCHE. At the right the words naming the goods are lettered large in a heavy brush script, set on lines that step down from the upper right toward the lower left, with a long tapering brush stroke drawn as a flourish beneath them. The agency credit “PUB. S.O.S.P.” is set very small and upright in the right margin, reading up the page. Below the double rule the firm’s style is given in bold italic, the name “CLÉMENT=BAYARD” in large letterspaced roman capitals joined by a double hyphen, and four lines of bold sans-serif follow with the Neuilly address and telephone, the works at La Macerienne, Mézières, the avenue address between dashes, and the Salon hall, stand and a second telephone. No second color is used, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]

[This advertisement shares page 148 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Piat, Ateliers du Dorlay and CLEM, each held here as its own record.]
