[An advertisement in a single-rule frame, entirely hand-lettered. A large black silhouette of a hand, fingers to the right and wrist trailing to the lower left, holds a small cartoon couple in period costume as if drawing them out like puppets: at the left a woman with a high ruffed collar, curls and a long gown, at the right a beaming, bald man in a ruff and doublet who leans toward her, his feet among the black fingers. The opening phrase “De ce couple pittoresque” climbs diagonally across the upper left in a large script, answered at the upper right by three lines of capitals. “BRASOBLOC” is lettered across the palm in tall capitals, white on the black hand and black where it runs past it, with the slogan and patent line beneath. The firm’s call to consult, its underlined name and its address and products fill the foot. No signature or agency mark seen.]

[This advertisement shares page 41 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Larpenteur, Soupl, the Mistral pump, Les Cycles Singer, Mephisto and Marcel Guillen, each held here as its own record, below the magazine’s form for the trade-union label.]
