[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a tall panel inside a double rule. The heading runs three lines across the top: the product name in heavy slab-serif capitals with the marque between inverted commas, then two lines of bold sloped capitals. The body of the panel is filled by a large line engraving of a freewheel block seen in three-quarter from the drive side, the sprockets stepping back one behind another, every tooth and flank modeled in fine ruled hatching so the steel reads as turned and polished; the outer face carries a raised ring lettered DEMONTAGE above and ” HIRY’S ” below, with BREVETÉ and S.G.D.G. set round the left and right of the ring, and the bore shows at the center. Two lines of bold sans-serif capitals are set vertically along the margins of the engraving, the patent claim reading up the left side and the words naming the other countries reading up the right. The maker’s name and address run as the last line across the foot in heavy slab-serif roman, the abbreviation Frès with raised letters. No second color is used, no signature or agency mark appears, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]

[This advertisement shares page 146 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Jiway, held here as its own record, and others for the M.A.C. fork for cyclomoteurs and Chazal-Rouchouse specialties for cyclomoteurs.]
