[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a single framed panel taller than it is wide. The headline “ROUE LIBRE” and the brand name “HIRY’S” in quotation marks stand across the head in large black roman capitals, with two lines of bold italic capitals beneath. The center is filled by one large line-engraved drawing in fine hatching of a freewheel block seen obliquely: a stack of three toothed sprockets of increasing size, with the smallest ring at the front carrying a flat collar with a central bore. Lettering engraved on the collar reads “DÉMONTAGE” with an arrow along its upper edge, “BREVETÉ” and “S.G.D.G” at its sides and “HIRY’S” in quotation marks along its lower edge. Two lines of bold sans-serif capitals run vertically up the margins, “BREVETÉE S. G. D. G.” at the left and “ET DANS TOUS LES PAYS” at the right. The maker’s name and address are set in one line of roman type along the foot of the panel, with the abbreviation “Frès” raised. No artist signature is visible and no text shows through from the reverse of the leaf.]

[This advertisement shares page 158 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for V & W, held here as its own record, and one for Rod 88 goggles.]
