“LA MAISON DE GROS DES VÉLOCISTES”

[Design: a wide, shallow advertisement running across the page. A heavy black frame with rounded corners is open at the top and bottom, its lines broken by the two opening lines of hand-drawn capitals at the top and by the slogan at the bottom. The name “A. ARGAUD & FILS” is hand-lettered in very large, heavy, rounded capitals, with “Fils” in a mixed upper and lower case; the address line beneath it is in small, widely spaced hand-drawn capitals of an eccentric display style. The slogan is lettered in white italic capitals, between quotation marks, reversed out of a black bar with rounded ends that sits on the bottom line of the frame. No illustration, signature or agency mark.]

[This advertisement shares page 36 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for La Pitchoune II, C.L.E.M., Birdo, La Perle, Strong and Fiducia, each held here as its own record, and others for Merat seats for vélomoteurs and motorcycles and J. Bonnefoy cream separators.]
