[A horizontal half-page advertisement in black on cream, ruled at the foot. “HAUTE RÉSISTANCE ! MINIMUM D’USURE !” runs across the head in heavy black hand-lettered italic capitals. A broad black pennant shape points in from the left, and across it a diagonal cream band carries “WIPPERMANN” in huge black sans-serif capitals rising from lower left to upper right. In the upper left corner a cream eight-pointed star holds a circled “W” trademark. Two lengths of chain are drawn in white line on the black: a wide triple roller chain lying along the lower left edge of the band with a small “W” mark stamped on its side plates and a single cycle chain climbing to the upper right. “CHAINES pour AUTOMOBILES” and “CHAINES pour CYCLES” are set in white capitals with “pour” in script, slanted to follow the band. Two pedals are drawn in white line at the lower right, a block pedal with a crosshatched rubber tread and a sport pedal with a rectangular cage pierced by slots, each beside its caption in white capitals. The French distributor’s name stands in large black roman capitals at the lower left with the address and telephone in small type to its right, and a small vertical oval at the lower right corner holds the agency mark “SOSP.” Faint marks from the reverse show through below the address.]
[This advertisement shares page 28 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Le Coq, held here as its own record.]
