[A ruled advertisement in black and white, built from large solid black wedge-shaped panels set at a slant against a light ground. A heavy brush-lettered line across the head reads “HAUTE RÉSISTANCE ! MINIMUM D’USURE !” in slanted capitals, with “ACIER AU MEILLEUR ALLIAGE” in thin spaced capitals beneath it. At the upper left a white eight-pointed star encloses a ring with a large letter W. A broad diagonal band rises from lower left to upper right, carrying the name “WIPPERMANN” in huge reversed capitals along its length; a line engraving beside it shows a wide multi-strand roller chain, and a second engraving of a single-strand chain with a small W on its side plates runs along the band. Reversed lettering in white on the black panels gives “CHAINES pour AUTOMOBILES” and “CHAINES pour CYCLES” in slanted lines. Two line-engraved pedals, one a block pedal with a crosshatched rubber tread and one a flat pedal with a ribbed cage, each sit in a white cut-out outline at the lower right, with the labels “PÉDALES POUR BICYCLETTES” and “PÉDALES SPORT” in reversed type. Below the black area the words “DISTRIBUTEUR POUR LA FRANCE” in spaced capitals lead to the distributor’s name in large light capitals and its address and telephone line at the right, then a heavy rule and a last line giving the hall and stand number. A small rounded box with the capitals SOSP set vertically stands at the lower right corner of the black area, apparently an agency mark. No other signature is visible, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]

[This advertisement shares page 188 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Fourets, held here as its own record, and one for Meyrat side stands for motor machines.]
