[A ruled advertisement in black and white laid out as a wide landscape panel, with the lower edge closed by a heavy rule. A large dark wedge with a pennant point runs from the left to the right across the panel, and the type and drawings are reversed out of it in cream. At the upper left a star of eight points holds a circle that frames a “W” monogram. Below the star a broad diagonal strip drawn in line engraving shows a triple-row automobile roller chain, with the words “CHAINES pour AUTOMOBILES” beside it. A second diagonal strip rising to the upper right shows a single bicycle chain in line engraving, its links marked with small monograms, and the name “WIPPERMANN” runs diagonally between the strips in very large cream capitals with “CHAINES pour CYCLES” below it in mixed capitals and script. At the lower right two pedals are drawn in line engraving with cross-hatching and cut out in cream outlines: a rubber-block bicycle pedal seen from above and a narrower sports pedal seen from the side, each with a small caption in cream capitals. A bold slanted line across the head carries the claims and a line of spaced capitals sits beneath it. The distributor’s name and address stand in light roman capitals at the lower left on the plain paper, and a small vertical “S.O.S.P.” agency mark in a rounded box sits at the lower right corner of the wedge. The stand number is set in roman type beneath the rule. No artist’s signature is visible.]

[This advertisement shares page 180 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Maphal, held here as its own record, and one for Felt.]
