SALON DU CYCLE – STAND 113
[An upright advertisement inside a thick black rule, printed in black on the untinted paper. The opening line is a large sloping script, and under it one line of heavy sans-serif capitals carries the product name with a single large letter set between two short double rules. A line of small sloping script follows. The middle of the panel is laid out on a diagonal: two wide bands of fine diagonal line hatching run from the upper left and the lower right, and between them a handlebar grip is drawn large in line engraving on the bare paper, lying from the lower left to the upper right. The grip is ringed along its length with close rounded corrugations, the collar at its outer end drawn with a flared flange and hatched, and the end cap at the left carries the maker’s name in a tiny script. Four claims are lettered in a bold script across the hatched bands, two above the grip and two below, each pair pointed at by a pair of heavy solid arrows. Two lines of letter-spaced sans-serif capitals then list six qualities, divided by commas. The closing line is a large script, the maker’s name at its right much the largest, and a short heavy rule separates it from the last line, which names the exhibition and the stand number in letter-spaced sans-serif capitals. No signature or agency mark is present.]
[This advertisement shares page 164 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Sonnclair, Cizeron and Bernardon, each held here as its own record.]
