[A tall narrow ruled advertisement in black and white. Three words of heavy capitals stagger down the head, with a cartoon line drawing below them of three smiling faces peering down at an open jeweler’s case: at the left a racing cyclist in a ribbed cap and scarf, in the middle a woman with dark waved hair, and at the right a man in a beret. The case is lined in dark fabric with a speckled outer edge and holds a small cream outline drawing of a road bicycle. Beneath it the words “un vrai bijou” are hand-lettered in large script with a long underswash, above a diamond-shaped badge split light and dark and enclosing the letters VBF. The firm’s name, the proprietor’s name, address and founding date, and a list of four depots with street addresses and telephone numbers, close the panel in bold roman and italic type. No artist’s signature or monogram is visible.]

[This advertisement shares its unnumbered page of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Argaud, Mazoyer, Marcel Guillen, Verrerie Stéphanoise, Répar-Witt, Maxi-Car, Brasobloc, Mistral, F.B.L. and Indéca, each held here as its own record, and one for the Var tool catalog.]
