[A full-page advertisement in a heavy black rule frame. A cartoon drawing in brush and pen: three smiling faces lean over an open jewel case and gaze into it, a racing cyclist in a striped leather hairnet helmet at the left, a young woman with dark waved hair at the center and a workman in a beret at the right, standing for the three lines of the headline. In the case, lined in black with a mottled shagreen edge, lies a small bicycle drawn in white outline. Below, “un vrai bijou” in large brush script with a long swash underline, then the VBF trademark: the letters “VBF” in a diamond divided into black and white halves. The firm’s name and address run at the foot to either side of the diamond, joined by short rules. Signed “P. Coignet” in small script running vertically up the right side, above the address. No agency mark. The reversed type of the advertisement on the other side of the leaf shows strongly through the paper, and the left frame rule shows a short break.]

[This advertisement shares page 84 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Torpedo and Porthor, each held here as its own record.]
