Éts SOVA – THONON-LES-BAINS

[A ruled advertisement in black and white. “FREINS” in heavy sans serif capitals opens the head line, with “TOUS MODÈLES” in a light sans serif. The name “SovA” is set very large in a black-letter face with a looping swash on the S, flanked by two short lines of condensed capitals at each side. Two lines of bold italic slab capitals follow. Most of the lower half is taken by a halftone photograph of a sidepull caliper brake seen from the front, its curved arms dark, the pivot bolt and cable anchor at the top, the barrel adjuster at the upper right and two ridged blocks at the feet; the arm carries cast lettering, of which the figure “50” reads but the letters beside it do not. The other products are listed at the right, “ÉCROUS PAPILLONS” in condensed capitals and the rest in sans serif, the wrench lines in italic, closing on a small striped triangle. A rule separates the firm’s line, “Éts SOVA – THONON-LES-BAINS”, across the foot. No signature appears.]
