STAND no 205. Parc Expos. : Hall du Cycle.

[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a full-width panel with a thin line border. The top line reads “FREINS” in heavy sans-serif capitals followed by “TOUS MODÈLES” in lighter spaced capitals. The brand name “SOVA” stands in the center in very large black-letter capitals with swash flourishes, the first and last letters taller than the middle two. Two short blocks of condensed capitals flank it, “ACIER MATRICÉ” at the left and “BRONZE MOULÉ” at the right. Beneath the name two lines of bold italic capitals describe the materials and types. A halftone-style illustration at the lower left shows a large side-pull caliper brake in three-quarter view: a thick arched arm with a hexagonal pivot nut, a central bolt and spring clip, a wing-nut adjuster rising at the right, and two ribbed rubber brake shoes on slotted holders hanging at the ends of the arms. Stamped marks, among them the number 50, show on the arch. At the right of the drawing the wing nuts, the wrenches and their materials are listed in condensed capitals and italic lowercase, with a small tapering hatched mark beneath. A ruled band across the foot holds “Éts SOVA – THONON-LES-BAINS” in bold capitals with a rule beneath, and a last line gives the stand number and hall in lighter type. No artist signature or agency mark is visible.]

[This advertisement shares page 138 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Cizeron, held here as its own record, and one for the Souriau flywheel test bench.]
