LA MARQUE QUI S’IMPOSE
[A full-page advertisement in magenta and black. A broad magenta border frames a cream field with a rounded corner, in which halftone photographs, cut out from their backgrounds, show the firm’s goods: two young men, one in a riding overall and one in a long belted coat, shaking hands; a padded helmet with ear flaps and a peaked cap with ear flaps; a tubular luggage rack; a strapped saddlebag; a boxy carrier case on a rack; twin black pannier bags; a gauntlet glove; and a long dual seat. At the right a staff drawn in line rises diagonally, flying four swallow-tailed pennants lettered “Élégance”, “Confort”, “Qualité” and “Utilisation maximum” in black calligraphic capitals, their shadows in black and their inner ends striped in magenta. Over the foot of the staff a lozenge holds “Sablé” in heavy black italic sans-serif capitals over a shield of dotted ovals and a small drawn airliner, with “Paris” below. “Exigez” sits in a white pointed tag at the right, the product list in spaced black capitals with diamond bullets, and the Pantin address in black sans-serif on the magenta. “La marque qui s’impose” runs in white italic capitals in a black band across the foot. No artist’s signature is visible.]
