Dessus de Selle
RÉPARATION EN MOLESKINE AV[…]
INTERCALAIRE FEUTRE ou CAOUTCHOUC ALVÉ[…]

[A small horizontal advertisement in a heavy black frame with rounded corners. At the upper left, the trademark: a running man in a cap drawn in white outline with a long stride, as a land surveyor’s « arpenteur » pacing out a distance, between the words “Marque” and “Deposee” on two arrows; his trailing leg forms the tall initial “L” of the name below. At the upper right, a drawing of a saddle cover shown on the rear of a saddle, in black with white highlights, against a ground of horizontal lines. Across the foot, a black band carries “Dessus de Selle” in white script and two lines of white italic capitals. The right-hand edge runs into the binding in the BnF’s photograph: the frame’s right side, part of the saddle drawing and the ends of both lines in the band (“AV[…]”, probably “AVEC”, and “ALVÉ[…]”, probably “ALVÉOLÉ”) are lost. No signature or agency mark.]

[This advertisement shares page 138 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Bernardon, Ruhier, Clément Italie, Marcel Guillen, JB and Poirier, each held here as its own record, and others for Indor sewing-machine needles, ROB compressors and Omega sewing machines.]
