[A ruled advertisement set in type alone, with no drawing or photograph, inside a plain black rule. The maker’s name heads the panel in very large heavy condensed sans-serif, “Jean” in upper and lower case running into “BARON” in capitals, with the founding line in small light sans-serif and the works address in two bold italic lines under it. A band of close upright hatching, like a row of short rules, runs across the panel below the address. The two marques are then shown as trademarks, each a long open lozenge drawn in thin rule: “J.B” in heavy roman inside the lozenge at the left and “MYLORD” in letter-spaced roman capitals inside the lozenge at the right, with the words “Ses marques” in bold sans-serif stacked on two lines between them. A bold italic line flanked by short dashes follows, with a rule under it. The goods are then listed in four lines of bold condensed sans-serif, centered, with a large solid black dot alone on a line between one entry and the next. A pair of rules closes off the foot, where one bold condensed line states that sales are made only to manufacturers and wholesalers. No telephone number or stand number is given, and no signature or agency mark appears. No type from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
[This advertisement shares page 138 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Henri Gauthier, held here as its own record, and others for the Fonlupt-Sport cyclomoteur and the Excellette cyclomoteur.]
