[A ruled advertisement in black and white, taller than wide, in two parts. The upper part is a solid black panel with reversed (white on black) type. At the left a column of six words in heavy underlined sans-serif capitals reads PNEUS, BOYAUX, BANDAGES, ACCESSOIRES, COURROIES and TUYAUX. At the right, in widely spaced light roman capitals, sit the phrases that go with the first four words, the last of them in smaller type. Across the foot of the black panel the name HUTCHINSON stands in very large heavy capitals, its final letter partly hidden by a drawing. At the lower right of the panel is a comic line drawing of a bearded man in a top hat and polka-dot trousers, bent over a large tire on a wooden stand and holding a long thin rod. The lower part is on a plain light ground, framed by slanting black rules, and repeats HUTCHINSON in large heavy dark capitals, with “à l’Aigle” in bold italic letters inside a black-outlined oval at the right. Below are lines of spaced roman capitals, ending with a line in which the word “pour” is in script. No street address or telephone line is printed. No artist signature or monogram is visible. The right edge of the black panel is clipped slightly by the crop.]
[This advertisement shares page 23 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Packson, held here as its own record.]
