[A landscape advertisement without a rule, printed in black on the untinted paper. A very large oval of plain paper fills the panel and the ground outside it is laid in solid black at the top left and the left edge, the oval’s line running off the sheet at the right and coming back as a long curve that ends in a solid arrowhead at the lower right. Three cartoon heads are drawn inside the oval in pen line, each with its man or woman drawn small and complete below it on a machine and each backed by a shape of coarse gray halftone tint. At the left a motorcyclist’s head in profile wearing a hard shell with a wide peak, goggles pushed over the eyes and a chinstrap, a small rider on a motorcycle under it; at the top center a woman seen from the front in a round helmet with a peak and spectacles, her hair showing at the back, sitting on a motor scooter below; at the right a cyclist’s head in profile in an open helmet of padded strips laid over the crown, with a small rider crouched on a racing bicycle beneath. Each model is named in letter-spaced capitals set across the tint beside its head. Along the foot two words are lettered in a heavy white brush script that crosses from the black ground onto the paper, with the firm’s name in very large bold sans-serif capitals beside them, and at the right, divided from them by a thin rule and a vertical, the street address and the telephone line in capitals. A solid black box at the lower right corner carries the trade line in two lines of reversed white capitals. The agency mark “S.O.S.P.” is set in small white capitals reading downward in the black at the top left corner, and the signature “B. CHAGNON” is set in small black capitals reading upward in the right margin.]

[This advertisement shares page 76 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Solexine fuel for the VéloSoleX.]
