[An upright advertisement in black on cream, framed by a heavy rule, laid out in two columns with a drawing in each. At the upper right a C-frame tool is drawn large in halftone from a photograph, a tee handle across its knurled screw and a small anvil in the throat, the body lettered along its flank with a word of about seven letters that is illisible. At the upper left the heading stands in heavy sans serif capitals between quotation marks, underscored by a double rule, with the four lines of the tool claim under it in a light sans serif and “Accessoires divers” below in widely letter-spaced type. At the lower left a bicycle bell is drawn in line engraving, the domed cap shaded with a stipple screen and cut away to show the striker arm and the ribbed handlebar clamp with its bolt below, the clamp hatched with close parallel lines. The right column carries the bell’s name in heavy sans serif capitals inside quotation marks, a double rule under it, then the patent line in light roman, the field of use, two lines of bold sans serif italic, “sans mécanique” in light sans serif, a short double rule and “Toutes couleurs” in large bold sans serif. A heavy rule runs across the foot, where the firm’s name is set very large, “FOURETS” in bold sans serif capitals and “frères,” in bold lower case, with “Constructeurs” in a light italic at the right. The Saint-Étienne address and telephone line follows, closed at each end by a small dash-colon-dash ornament, and the Paris depot line is set last in italic. No second color, no agency mark and no artist’s signature appear.]
