[An upright advertisement inside a plain rule with a heavy black band along the head and the foot, printed in black on the untinted paper. The type is entirely a bold slab-serif roman: a bold italic opening line at the upper left, the firm’s name across the panel in very large capitals, and a bold italic word with three dots set to the right under it. Two objects are drawn in fine line engraving. In the upper half a bulb horn lies almost horizontally, its flared trumpet to the left shaded with tapering lines, a handlebar clip hanging below the neck and a large pear-shaped rubber bulb at the right rendered in dense stipple. In the middle a cycle pump lies straight across the full width, its barrel drawn in close horizontal line with the plunger head and its ferrules at the right, and a sloping parallelogram label on the barrel carries the pump’s name in two lines of small capitals reading downward. Between and below the drawings the two classes of goods are named in large bold capitals mixed with lower case. Below a short rule the firm’s name and street address run in bold capitals and lower case, then the town and telephone line, each flanked by short groups of thin horizontal rules at the left and right margins. A second short rule divides off the last block, where the exhibition and its hall and stand numbers are set in small letter-spaced capitals, the last line again flanked by thin rules. No signature or agency mark is present.]
[This advertisement shares page 158 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Barral, held here as its own record, and others for Méga fuel tanks and the Singer cyclomoteur.]
