[A ruled advertisement in black and white inside a single rule. Three lines of informal handwritten script open the panel at the top. A line drawing of a side-pull caliper brake, shaded in solid black and hatching, fills the center and right, set against a bicycle wheel drawn as a thin rim with radiating spokes in broken strokes; a cable runs up from the brake to a clip and down to a lever at the right edge. A large “CLB” monogram sits in the circle of the brake arms. Down the left side “Un frein Chic Léger et qui Bloque” is stacked in a light condensed sans-serif with the initials C, L and B set in large heavy capitals, spelling the brand. A gray hatched bar across the lower part carries “Champion de France 1948 1949” in black handwritten script, with a line of tiny italic type beneath it of which only “amateurs” can be read. “ANGÉNIEUX,” stands at the lower left in heavy condensed capitals, with the Saint-Étienne address in bold roman type beside and below it. There is no signature in the drawing.]

[This advertisement shares its unnumbered page of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Vélodécor, La Perle, Mistral, Chazal-Rouchouse, Metalloplan and Bourguignon, each held here as its own record, and others for the F.L. lining tool, Goetz pistons and C.P.D.M. connecting-rod reconditioning.]
