TYPE ” Championnat du Monde 1934 “. The bicycle is a light road racer with a shallow drop bar, a
single chainring, a pump on the seat tube and a wide-flange rear hub. The reverse of the sheet shows
through the thin paper behind the image.

The two specifications set below the picture are the useful part, because they are the same frame
built twice at two weights and priced against each other. The C. M. 20 is Titan tubing with steel
fittings, bronze-alu wing nuts and a two-cog freewheel, at 790 francs. The C. M. 30 is Reynolds
tubing with the stays and fork blades in a light alloy the sheet calls Fobur, and then everything
else in Duralumin as well: rims, pedals, saddle springs, seat pillar, brakes, hubs, wing nuts,
handlebar and pump. Its chainset and cranks are Stronglight, printed here as ” Stronlight “. That
machine is 1,140 francs, which is 44 percent more than the steel-fitted version.

A three-speed Super-Champion derailleur is an extra on both, and its price follows the same logic as
the frames: 70 francs for the steel one on the C. M. 20 and 90 for the Dural one on the C. M. 30.

The saddle line on both machines reads Selle idéale. This is the Idéale saddle, held elsewhere in
this archive under its own marque, specified as standard on Automoto’s two fastest catalog models.

The model name dates the sheet to the season after the 1934 world championship, which is how the
Ebykr archive files it at 1935.]
