[A full-width ruled advertisement in black and white, framed by a heavy rule along the right and bottom. The head is a large inverted-pentagon panel printed in solid dark tone with the name “SIMPLEX” reversed out in white capitals; the S is drawn as a looped chain path around two small sprockets, with the initials L and J beside it. Beneath the panel the proprietor’s name and two city names stand at the left and a three-line slogan in bold spaced capitals at the right, above a ruled line and a headline in large spaced sans-serif capitals that is carried across the page. A column of eight product lines in spaced capitals stands at the upper right. The lower half holds two fine line engravings side by side. At the left a cyclomotor engine is drawn with its finned cylinder, carburetor, belt and pulley and a small brake unit lettered with the maker’s name sits against the belt. At the right a rear-wheel drive is drawn with its chain, a large toothed chainring and a pedal-shaped foot brake lever lettered “SIMPLEX” on a long arm with a rod running back to the wheel hub. Between the drawings an italic line, a bold italic line and a block of very heavy sans-serif capitals announce the engine brake, with a short paragraph of lighter text beneath. Two signatures are visible in the line engravings: a monogram of the letters D and R at the lower center of the engine drawing, and the name “Rebour” at the lower right corner of the chain drawing.]

[This advertisement shares page 110 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Pertuisot engine repairs and the Leda rear seat.]
