[A full-page advertisement in a thin black rule frame. The headline is set in a bold script, the second line in heavy extended sans serif, then a rule, the line of uses in condensed capitals and two lines of bold italic. At the center a fine engraving of a large-flange hub laid horizontally: drilled flanges, a knurled cone and lock nut on the left, a threaded axle at each end, the barrel lettered “PORTHOR”, “TOUR DE FRANCE” and “FORGE – TRAITE” (no accents can be seen on the barrel). Engraver’s mark “L.SANCO” in small italic capitals under the left axle end. The slogan, the name “PORTHOR” in very large roman capitals and “TRENTE ANNÉES DE SUCCÈS !” follow; the address runs below a rule at the foot. No agency mark. The right-hand frame rule is not visible at the crop’s right edge, where the page runs into the binding; no text is lost. Type from the reverse of the leaf shows through the paper.]
[This advertisement shares page 84 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Torpedo and VBF, each held here as its own record.]
