FONDETTES (I.-&-L.)

[A landscape panel inside a plain black rule, printed in black on the untinted paper. Four lines of address to the trade head the panel in a bold sans-serif, the opening word in heavier capitals and the last words in a bold italic. The lower left two thirds carry a line engraving of an invalid tricycle seen from its left side: two large spoked wheels close together at the rear under a low upholstered seat with a padded back and a folded hood or cushion behind it, a single steered wheel at the front in a sprung fork, a long tubular frame with a flat footboard between the wheels and an upright steering column rising to a small horizontal hand wheel, every part drawn in plain line with a little hatching on the seat. At the right the type runs in four steps: one line of bold sans-serif capitals and lower case naming the motor models, one line of italic offering the catalog, the firm’s name very large in bold condensed capitals with a raised abbreviation, and two lines giving the street number, street, village and department. No second color is used and no signature or agency mark appears. A faint raking shadow of type from the reverse of the leaf crosses the panel.]

[This advertisement shares page 179 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for IEP, held here as its own record, and others for S.O.S.P. hire-purchase forms, Gamet gloves, D.K.W. spare parts, Barbe sprockets for motorcycles, Bonnefoy cream separators and Ferrand clothing.]
