Maison fondée en 1909

[A ruled panel in black and white, text-led, with a thin single-line border. At the top a line-engraved drawing shows a bicycle hub seen from the side, a plain axle between two perforated flanges with the axle ends and locknuts projecting at each side. An eagle with widely spread wings perches on each flange, gripping it with its claws, and the two birds hold a long curling ribbon or streamer in their beaks that arches between them above the hub. Beneath the drawing “Les Moyeux” and “PÉLISSIER” are set in very large, widely spaced heavy roman capitals and lowercase with wedge serifs. The model names and the line about cycles and cyclomoteurs follow in a lighter roman, centered, then a small solid triangle pointing down. “ÉTABLISSEMENTS” appears in small capitals above the firm’s name in large bold roman capitals with “ET SES FILS” in smaller spaced capitals. The street, town and telephone lines are in bold roman, centered, and a second triangle leads to the closing line “Maison fondée en 1909” in bold roman. No artist signature is visible.]

[This advertisement shares page 116 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Clément-Bayard, held here as its own record, and one for K.L.G. spark plugs.]
