[A wide shallow advertisement in black on cream, the text in the middle and a machine drawn at each end. Across the head the two dates stand at the outer corners, each underscored by a short rule, with the years-of-manufacture line between them in letter-spaced roman capitals over a rule. Below, the four product words run the full width in a large bold sans serif italic, closed at the right by the trade name in heavy upright sans serif capitals. The body matter is set in a mixture of faces: one long line of condensed bold sans serif, two lines of bold roman giving the model counts, three lines of a light italic, the single word and three question marks in letter-spaced roman capitals, and the closing address in bold roman and bold sans serif. The opening line begins at “ui”, its first word and initial capital not printed. At the left a motorized cycle is drawn in fine line engraving, seen in full profile from the near side, with a sprung front fork, a bundle of control cables at the handlebar, a headlamp on a bracket, a long tank lettered with the trade name along the top tube, a small engine at the bottom bracket, a rear carrier with a lettered plate and a full chaincase. Under its front wheel, on the base line, is a small engraver’s signature of about nine characters beginning with an initial and a period, too faint to read and so illisible. At the right a second, lighter machine is drawn in the same manner, with a sprung fork, a cylindrical headlamp, a tank on the down tube lettered with the trade name, an engine ahead of the bottom bracket and a rear carrier. A rule runs under each drawing, and the production claim closes the panel in one line of italic. The sheet carries show-through from the reverse of the leaf across the whole panel, including reversed lettering behind the heading and the loops of a large drawn shape at the upper right. No second color and no agency mark appear.]
