From L’Officiel du cycle, du motocycle et du camping, 1 October 1955, N° 20, the paper’s special number before the Salon du Cycle at the Porte de Versailles, page 109: rené Manière’s Rochet makes no cyclomoteur, only bicycles (since 1885); a stand 100 percent cycle with chrome luggage carriers, Randonneur models, Compétition models and a new children’s bicycle series, Stand 204. The title, headings, captions and lists are transcribed as printed; the text is summarized in Ebykr’s words, and the page images carry it in full.

Rochet

[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. M. René Manière, the amiable constructor of Brive-la-Gaillarde, is categorical, and is quoted as saying: no cyclomoteur; the firm pushes the perfection of its bicycles ever further through constant care in construction, in the choice of accessories and in presentation, because it wants to continue the tradition of quality that has always been the motto of the Cycles Rochet since their founding in 1885. The author recalls that from 10 to 22 January 1894, at the salle Wagram, the first “Salon du Cycle” took place; the Cycles Rochet exhibited there, in a magnificent stand, an imposing choice of road and racing cycles, tandems and tricycles that won the admiration of the public.]

[Ebykr summary, second section. The Rochet stand at this Salon 55 will again be 100 % cycle. Visitors will also see the chromed, demountable luggage carriers fitted as standard to the new “Randonneur” models, the judicious choice of new colors and decorations, and the multitude of “petits détails” that show on these machines the care for finish dear to M. Manière. Beside the fine “Compétition” models, a specialty of the marque, they will see “la bicyclette enfant”, constantly improved; the author says the notice will return to it soon, wishing to leave to the visitors of stand n° 204 the pleasure of appreciating this new series of models for children.]

[Text only, in one magazine column under a right-aligned heading in bold sans-serif type, “Rochet”. The body is set entirely in a light upright sans-serif face with indented paragraphs and guillemets around the quoted words; the names Manière and Rochet are in capitals. There is no drawing, no address block and no signature. The last line of the notice, ending “enfants.”, sits at the lower edge of the crop.]
