Le Cycle’s plate of the Simplex “Prestige” derailleur, page 31 of n° 51, October 1964, the Salon issue: an exploded drawing of the derailleur in its industrial resin parts and a drawing of it mounted, both signed by Daniel Rebour, with the new lever. The title is transcribed as printed; the captions are summarized in Ebykr’s words, and the page image carries them in full.

Les dérailleurs SIMPLEX “ Prestige ”

[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. Three captions present the SIMPLEX PRESTIGE rear derailleur and its shift levers. The first says that the derailleur, shown taken apart above, displays the rational design of its parts: made in industrial resin are the two main pivot supports (supports principaux d’articulations), the two link arms (bras biellettes) that form the deformable parallelogram giving the sideways movement, the spring housings (gaines des ressorts) and the pulleys (galets); on the competition model (modèle compétition) the pulley-cage plates (flasques porte-galets) are of light metal. The second, beside the lever drawing, presents the new shape of the SIMPLEX shift levers (manettes) in industrial resin that equip the PRESTIGE derailleurs, offered in a single or a double version. The third says that SIMPLEX, having adopted industrial resin two years earlier for the main parts of its PRESTIGE derailleurs and levers, has rightly stood out as an innovator, and that a victory in the Tour de France of 1962, where the derailleur was tested, and a very rich record of wins in 1963 confirm the excellence of the firm’s manufacture at Dijon (dijonnaise).]

[Three line drawings. At the top, an exploded view of the Simplex Prestige rear derailleur spreads out its parts: the dropout fixing bracket and its bolt, the parallelogram body with a plate lettered “Simplex” in script, the link arms and pivot supports, two coil springs and their split sleeves, pivot bolts, screws, nuts and washers, the two cage plates, two toothed pulleys and their loose ball bearings. At the lower right the assembled derailleur is shown mounted behind a multiple-sprocket freewheel, with its cable in a coiled housing, the chain and the “Simplex” plate on its body. At the lower left a pair of shift levers with diamond-knurled grips sits on a clamp with a wing nut. The page carries two signatures “Rebour”, each in his boxed script: one at the right of the page below the exploded pulleys and cage plate, just above the chain of the mounted drawing, and one to the right of the mounted derailleur, above the right-hand caption. The lever drawing carries no signature.]
