PRODUCTION DES ANCIENS Ets PAUL MAURY
1 Pl. d’Estienne d’Orves Paris 9e Tri. 56-77 – Usine à Louviers (Eure)

[A horizontal half-page advertisement in black on cream inside a thin ruled frame. Two products are shown as halftone photographs: at the upper center a domed bicycle bell on a three-footed base with a thumb lever whose round plate bears an indistinct embossed emblem, and at the lower left a round electric horn seen three-quarter on, its face slotted with horizontal louvers round a central nut and its mounting bracket pierced with two holes. Heavy black arrows lead the eye through the panel: one from the left edge to the bell beside “mécanique…,” one back toward the horn under “électrique…” and a long vertical arrow down the right side to the closing line. “mécanique…” and “électrique…” are set in bold condensed lowercase sans-serif, “nouveau !” in a heavy brush script and the trade line in small roman. The closing line, “la qualité” with “le Coq” in quotation marks, ends the panel in large bold condensed type, an ink smudge just before its opening dots. A black band across the foot carries the maker’s name in spaced reversed capitals and the address, telephone and works in a smaller reversed line. No signature is visible.]

[This advertisement shares page 28 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Wippermann, held here as its own record.]
