[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a single panel with a rounded lower left corner, laid out on a black ground cut by diagonal bands of paper-white zigzag shapes. At the upper right a white tilted rectangle holds the firm’s name: “ÉTABLISSEMENTS” in small capitals, “LANDON” in very large heavy black capitals, “Père & Fils” in bold lowercase italic and the town and department in spaced capitals below. A brush-lettered line “Nos Spécialités :” in white, underlined with a swash, crosses the center. The products are line-engraved drawings with fine hatching: at the upper left a flat pedal with toothed cage edges and a threaded spindle, below it a toothed freewheel sprocket seen from the side, at the center two crank arms with their fixing bosses, one drawn from above and one from the side, at the right a hub with a long axle and a pierced flange, and in the lower right a large chainwheel with a scalloped ring of teeth and three curved spokes. Short lists of the products stand beside them in hand-lettered capitals and lowercase, each marked with a round black bullet. At the lower left the words “La Marque” are followed by the brand name “Éclair” in large black lettering whose strokes are cut into jagged lightning-bolt shapes. A small vertical line of type at the lower right edge reads “Pub. S.O.S.P.” as the agency mark. No artist signature is visible and no text shows through from the reverse of the leaf.]

[This advertisement shares page 168 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Canetti and Montcoudiol, each held here as its own record.]
