[A tall upright advertisement, a narrow column inside a thin rule, the panel itself a solid black ground with everything drawn on it reserved in the cream of the paper. The six brand names are stacked at the head in heavy sans-serif capitals of three sizes, letter-spaced and ranged to fill each line. Below them the goods are drawn as white line engravings, shaded with fine hatching and modeled with reserved highlights, overlapping one another at a slant. Three pumps lie diagonally across the panel from the lower right to the upper left, their barrels lettered along the length and their heads knurled: one carries the brand alone, one a small rectangular maker’s plate whose two lines are too broken to read, and one the racing legend with a small star. A domed handlebar bell on its lugged clamp with a thumb lever stands at the upper right, drawn from the side and finely hatched over the dome. A round label, lettered round its rim and across its middle, lies against the pumps at the center left. Low on the panel a toe clip is drawn in three-quarter view with the maker’s name stamped along its crossbar, a second clip with its toe strap buckled behind it, and the strap end lettered in script with a small round stud at its tip. No firm’s address, telephone or stand number appears, and no signature or agency mark is on the panel.]

[This advertisement shares page 56 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for the Racer cyclomoteur.]
