[A ruled advertisement in black and white, text only with no drawing. A heavy black rule frames the panel on all four sides, broken across the top by the head, where “AFCO” in very large heavy sans-serif capitals and “S.A.” in a lighter sans serif interrupt the line. Beneath it the street address sits in medium sans-serif capitals and the line announcing the season is in bold italic lower case. Inside the frame thin rules divide the panel into three rows and two columns, giving six cells. Each cell carries a small descriptive line in light spaced capitals above a brand name set larger between quotation marks: “PERRY” in a roman face with serifs, “BROOKS” in the same roman, “JLO” in a spaced heavy sans serif, “INTERLUX” in a bold sans serif, “RÉPAR-WITT” in a heavy slab-serif face and “CANON” in a spaced light sans serif. The left column holds chains and hub brakes, motors and bottom-bracket boxes with tools, and the right column holds saddles, dynamo regulators and balls with pedal parts, as the cell lines read. No artist signature or agency mark appears, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]

[This advertisement shares page 208 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Gapiand and LAM, each held here as its own record, and one for the export house of J. Burin des Roziers.]
