[A wide, shallow ruled advertisement set in type alone, with no drawing or photograph. The frame is a heavy black rule drawn with a thick drop shadow on its outer side, and it is broken at the top right, where the firm’s name “AFCO S.A.” in large bold sans-serif capitals sits across the gap, and again at the lower right, where the rule steps away for the last line. The address runs under the name in one line of light italic sans-serif. Two lines of letter-spaced bold condensed capitals state the sole import and wholesale distribution for the French market. Under them the three kinds of goods are set as three columns across the panel: each column has its heading in light sans-serif capitals over the marque in heavy fat-face roman capitals between raised inverted commas, “BROOKS” at the left, “PERRY” in the middle and “JLO” at the right. One line of letter-spaced light capitals giving the Salon and the stand numbers closes the panel along the foot. No signature or agency mark appears, and no type from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
