[A wide ruled advertisement in black and white, set inside an open frame and flanked at each end by three heavy vertical bars. The left half carries the text: “Pour TOUT votre OUTILLAGE MOTO et CYCLE” in mixed light and heavy sans serif capitals, “allez chez” in a light italic script beside a large heavy “VAR”, the Paris address and Métro line in sans serif, and the catalog offer in letterspaced small capitals ending in a condensed line. Across the top right and down the middle a row of workshop tools is drawn in line engraving with fine hatching: a flywheel puller with its bar handle, a small sleeve tool lettered “VAR”, a valve-spring compressor in a large C-frame lettered “VAR”, a lever-operated puller on a magneto flywheel, a chain rivet extractor marked “VAR” and a two-legged bearing puller with “VAR” on its collar. “Plus de 200 sortes d’OUTILS et de CLÉS spéciaux en magasin !” is set at the lower right in a rounded sans serif, the figure “200” in heavy bold. No signature appears.]
