HALL DU CYCLE : Stand 153

[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a wide panel set in a single thin rule that is open at the lower left where the address block sits. The headline at the upper left is set in mixed faces: “Pour” and “votre” in a light rounded sans serif, “TOUT” in heavy shaded capitals, “OUTILLAGE” and “MOTO” in very heavy shaded capitals and “et CYCLE” smaller. Below it “allez chez” in a slanted script face leads into “VAR” in large heavy capitals, followed by the street address and Métro line in light sans serif and three lines of widely spaced small capitals offering the catalog. The upper right and center hold a row of five tools drawn in fine line engraving with light shading, each marked VAR on its body: a flywheel puller fitted on a round drum with a long bent handle, a small hexagonal fitting, a large C-shaped clamp with a thumbscrew, and a pair of long-handled pliers carrying a round drum. Under them a chain tool with a tall forked frame and a three-jaw bearing puller with two curved legs stand at the lower center. At the lower right the line about more than 200 kinds of tools is set in a light rounded sans serif with “200” in heavy figures. The stand line sits outside the frame beneath the panel. No artist signature or agency mark appears, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
