[A ruled advertisement in black and white, the right half of the panel solid black and the left half light, with a black band across the foot. A hand-lettered script line at the upper left, “Pour Cycles Motos, Scooters”, sits beside “LA BURETTE VALVESPOUT” in large heavy italic capitals set on a rising slant, with “EST IRREMPLAÇABLE” beneath it. At the left a line engraving of a bent oiler spout with a knurled head and a threaded collar drips four elongated drops down the margin. Below it a column of widely spaced capitals, a paragraph in a geometric sans serif and a small block of condensed capitals list the product’s features and sellers. On the black ground at the right, four line-engraved oilers are stacked in a loose column: a tall slim one with a pointed nozzle, a dome-shaped can, a conical can and a round flask with a long curved nozzle. Round labels on the cans read “Valvespout” with the English wording given above. The firm’s name in spaced white capitals, a line naming exclusive distributors, the street address and the telephone line fill the black band at the foot. No artist signature or agency mark is seen.]

[This advertisement shares page 40 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Bourrin Frères, held here as its own record, and others for Orion oils and enamels and Serco cyclomoteur lubricants.]
