Available in specially softened hand-treated version as devised by Daniel Rebour: no breaking-in

[One leaf, page 18, from Ron Kitching’s Everything Cycling, the Harrogate wholesale catalog that was
the route almost every continental component took into British club cycling. A second Kitching leaf,
page 16, is held here separately as a different record.

The two pages are not versions of each other. Page 16 is a plain stock list with an IE code against
every entry. This one is a designed spread, with the range set out in illustrated blocks, the
marque’s own arguments quoted at length and a decorative row of head badges across the foot. It also
carries the whole of the late range together: the Series Racing 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 in Rilsan
and hide, the leather No. 80 Record and Speciale, the No. 90 Competition Speciale in steel and in
duralumin, the saddle cover, and the Randonneuse 2004.

A correction worth recording, because a handoff note in this archive had it the other way round.
Neither page prints prices. The figures beside each model are separated by a small balance marked
GMS over OZS, and they are the weight given twice, in grammes and in ounces. The conversions check
out across the sheet: 560 grammes against 19·75 ounces, 425 against 15·25, 720 against 25·5. They
are transcribed above with the glyph written out as GMS/OZS.

One line does not convert. The No. 80 Record is given as 750 GMS/OZS 13·25, and 750 grammes is
about 26·4 ounces, not 13·25. It was read at six times magnification to be sure and it is printed
that way. The error is the catalog’s.

Daniel Rebour is again the authority rather than the illustrator, his signature reproduced beside
the hand-treated version and his name spelled out in the copy. Paul Delay is quoted directly, and
his testimonial names the thing the marque was selling in this period more plainly than the
specifications do: a first-class saddle that can be ridden right away.
