RALEIGH
THE ALL-STEEL BICYCLE

A PRODUCT OF RALEIGH INDUSTRIES LIMITED · NOTTINGHAM · ENGLAND

THE RALEIGH
NOTTINGHAM
ENGLAND

[A fair-haired boy in a red cap and a red and yellow striped shirt rides a black Raleigh roadster along a dirt road beside a wire fence, turning to look out of the picture and grinning. The machine carries a saddlebag, a chainguard and a hub dynamo. Behind him a swept-wing jet fighter comes in low across flat grassland, with two more aircraft high in a sky streaked with vapor trails. RALEIGH is lettered in heavy red capitals across the foot with THE ALL-STEEL BICYCLE beneath it, the Raleigh Industries line set small below that, and the heron badge at the lower right.

The sheet sells the bicycle by putting it in the same picture as the fastest thing the boy could name. The Raleigh Industries imprint and the jet aircraft place it after the war; the year given here is an estimate from those two things, since the sheet prints no date.]
